Boys Varsity Soccer Defeats Norwin For Battle Of First Place

In a battle of two undefeated teams jockeying for first place in the section, the boys varsity soccer team came away victorious against defending WPIAL champions Norwin, 3-2, on Thursday night.
The Knights jumped out to an early 1-0 lead less than two minutes into the game, but then the Mustangs rallied for three unanswered goals in the first half to take control of the game.
Norwin scored on a penalty kick in the second half, but the boys were able to hold off the Knights to secure the win and sole possession of first place in the section.
Scoring for the Mustangs were Gage Adinolfi, Austin Kolankowski and and Andy Strasser. Adinolfi, Garrett Chandler and Bryce Bobich picked up the assists.
The boys improved to 8-0-2 overall and 5-0 in the section.
They will step out of the section and travel to Greater Latrobe on Saturday for a 1 p.m. start.
