The girls varsity soccer team recorded its second straight 2-0 section shutout to open the season, this time defeating Elizabeth Forward in the home opener.
Sophomore Emily Grubich got the Mustangs on the board in the first half on a goal, assisted by Mia Nardo.
Freshman Ali Joyce scored her first career varsity goal in the second half after converting on a penalty kick.
For the second straight game, Makenna Anderson and Malayna Smith combined for the shutout.
The Mustangs will travel to Gateway this weekend for a non-section game at 1:30 p.m.
