Girls Flag Football Keeps Playoff Hopes Alive With A Pair Of Wins

The girls flag football team continued to roll on Sunday with a pair of wins at Jeannette High School.
The Mustangs defeated Greater Latrobe 22-15 in the first game and came back with an 18-0 shutout against McKeesport in the second game. It was the fourth shutout of the season for the girls.
Tamia West led the team in touchdowns on the day with five and had six receptions. Hannah Woltjen had a touchdown and recorded five receptions.
Kaylee Rodriguez completed 19 passes and had seven flags pulled.
Selina Boea led the team with nine flag pulled and five pass deflections.
Hayden Wawrzyniak had two interceptions on the day.
The wins improved their record to 7-2 entering the final weekend of the regular season.
The Mustangs will travel to Gateway next Sunday at will play the host Gators at noon and Jeannette at 1 p.m.
Girls Flag Football Splits Games In First Full Weekend Of Season

In the first full weekend of the season, the girls flag football team split a pair of games at Gateway High School.
In their first games, the Mustangs shut out Greensburg Salem 12-0, before narrowly falling to Woodland Hills, 7-6, in overtime.
Kayden Young, Selina Boea and Tamia West all scored touchdowns and Kaylee Rodriguez threw for two touchdowns.
Young and Boea also recorded two interceptions.
Hayden Wawrzyniak, Boea and Rodriguez each had four-plus flag pulls.
The Mustangs improved to 2-1 on the season.
