
Darian Slaughter Named to PSFCA East-West All-Star Game

Senior Defensive End Darian Slaughter was named to the Pennsylvania Scholastic Football Coaches Association (PSFCA) East-West All-Star game, that pits the states top talent in a small school vs. large school all-star game.
Slaughter, a first-team defensive end, had 37 tackles, 15 tackles for loss and led the team with 10 sacks and caused on fumble. This was the second year in a row he recorded double digit sacks for the Mustangs.
The PSFCA will take place on Sunday, May 18 at Cumberland Valley High School's Chapman Field.
The all-star game was created in 2001.

Darian Nelson Becomes First Plum Football Player In 25 Years Selected To PSFCA Big 33 Football Classic

In one of the most prestigious honors a high school football players from Pennsylvania can receive is being selected to the PSFCA Big 33 Football Classic. For the first time in 25 years, Plum will have a player competing in the game.
Senior athlete Darian Nelson was selected to the game after his accomplishments both on offense and defense were noticed by the selcetion committe. On offense, Nelson played quarterback, running back and wide receiver. He had 253 rushing yards and three touchdowns, 422 receiving yards and four touchdowns and led the team in all-purpose yards.
Defensively, Nelson had 44 tackles, five tackles for loss, one sack, two interceptions, one fumble recovery and one caused fumble. He has been named to numerous first-team all-conference selections.
Nelson shares the special bond with Mustangs head coach, Matt Morgan. Morgan was the last football player from Plum to play in the game in 1999.
Other Plum alumni's to play in the game were John Hicks (1953), Stephen Kiragis (1974), Dave Blotzer (1976), Jeff Boyton and Joh Garcia (1978), Paul Palamara (1984), and Joe Manganello (1998)

Varsity Football Lands Eight On Big 56 All-Conference Teams

The varsity football team was well-represented when the Big 56 Conference All-Conference Teams were released on Monday.
The Mustangs received four members on the first team and four members on the second team.
On the first team were center, Frank Grazulis, offensive at-large Nick Odom, defensive end Darian Slaughter, and linebacker Darian Nelson.
In his first year at center, Grazulis was the glue to the offensive line for the Mustangs, leading the way in the run game for Odom and Company. Odomled the team with 789 rushing yards and five touchdowns. He had four games of 100-plus rushing yards. Slaughter had 37 tackles, 15 tackles for loss and led the team with 10 sacks and caused on fumble. Nelson had 44 tackles, five tackles for loss, one sack, two interceptions, one fumble recovery and one caused fumble.
On the second team were guard Dorrian Anderson, wide receiver Sloan Humphries, defensive tackle Evan Corrigan, and defensive back Tyler Baleno.
Anderson was another key cog in the offensive line this year, and played on the defensive line as well, recording 30 tackles and 10 for a loss and two sacks. Humphries led the team in receiving with 38 receptions for 536 yards and four touchdowns. Corrigan had 15 tackles, seven for a loss, and two fumble recoveries. Baleno had 27 tackles and two for a loss.
