Seven Named To All-Section For Girls Soccer

The girls varsity soccer team was well represented when the all-section teams were released with seven girls being named to the team.
Catie Weiss, Makenna Anderson, Mia Nardo, Serena Carnahan, Gianna Revetta, Emily Grubich and Meghan Stammer received the honors.
Weiss was one of the top defenders on the Mustangs this year with a team that recorded 12 shutouts. She also had two assists. Anderson allowed only two goals in 790 minutes in goal. Nardo was tied for third on the team with seven goals and had six assists. Carnahan had two goals and five assists. Revetta was second on the team with 10 goals and had seven assists. Grubich led the team with 18 goals and four assists. Stammer had two goals.
The Mustangs, who won its sixth straight section title, earned the No. 4 seed in the Class 3A WPIAL playoffs and will host No. 13 Shaler on Monday, Oct. 21 at 6:30 p.m.
Riverview, Plum girls soccer teams look to maintain winning tradition

The Riverview and Plum girls soccer teams open their seasons this week with high expectations as experienced leadership returns for both the Raiders and the Mustangs.
With a breakout season last year for Riverview, and Plum’s string of recent success in section play and beyond, the teams understand that targets are on their backs from opponents hoping to stop them in their tracks.
At the same time, the Raiders and Mustangs expect to be aggressive pursuers of their goals as their new journeys begin.
